The project will be celebrated in the form of an exhibition with the distribution of leaflets summarising the projects to attendees. For this the children will create a display of photographs, with captions on mobile display boards, which will be displayed in the library, at the school and also produce a DVD, with accompanying literature, which will be freely circulated to local schools and history groups.
This project aims to help schoolchildren understand history through a contemporary issue. Filmmaking is a valuable tool to encourage young people to channel their creative energy and explore a historical issue and produce a valuable historical artefact. We would need money to bring in an historian and a filmmaker to help in the production of the children's film. Furthermore for the exhibition costs in displaying the work and getting the finished film onto DVD and publicising the work.
