Weymouth Pavilion historical survey

In addition the children would record what is there at the moment, as this building will disappear completely and the area change entirely in the near future. The children will record the present historical state of Weymouth Pavilion by taking photographs and video footage of the building and its surrounding area, creating an archive of the buildings and features. These buildings are planned to be demolished. The children will compare the new images to pictures of the Pavilion from the past highlighting the various changes. External professionals such as a photographer, filmmaker, and an historian from Dorset History Centre (DHC), will support the children.

Adrian Love, Education Officer at the Dorset History Centre has expressed his enthusiasm for this "exciting project". Adrian will bring his experience as a historian to this project. The children, and the school, will be introduced to the DHC, which is an excellent local facility. The research material gathered from this relationship will be brought back to the school where it will be compiled and published in a DVD with accompanying education pack.
