Website address selected

Children with web addressIn an early session with children from Westfield Technology College and St Andrews school, we came up with the web address you see above (www.pavilionpast.org.uk).

In small groups the children came up with possible URL’s (the web address). We then checked to make sure these URL's (they were all .org.uk ones) were available for us to hire.

Once we had a selection, then we all (adults included) voted for one to be used. This address we then went and registered.

These photos were taken whilst we ran our workshop for the children to come up with the domain name for the website.

In a later workshop we worked on the look & feel for the website (the menu items, colours, etc).

Joining forces

The children from Westfield Technology College and St Andrew's School have begun an exciting joint project to investigate the historic uses of the Pavilion. They would be very interested to hear from members of the public who have any memories about the Pavilion over the years.

The children aim to produce a valuable historical archive document, recording Weymouth Pavilion and what people feel about it. On completion of the children's investigation they will present what they discover to the public in an exhibition, a film on DVD (which would be distributed to all local schools) and a website, which will document their discoveries.

If you have any memories you would be willing to share please get in touch. You may for example have some memories about the Ritz theatre. Did you perhaps work at the Pavilion in the past or even perform there? If so please, please contact us at either of the schools.
