Walking Down the Haydons Road

Following the training of 8 volunteers in oral history, interviewing and sound recording, as well as history workshops at Merton Archives and Plough Lane, 28 interviews were conducted with fans of AFC Wimbledon. Stretching back to attending the old Plough Lane in their amateur days in the 1950s to their rise to the Premier League and FA Cup victory, their shocking move to Milton Keynes and their rebirth in non-league and their rise once more, the project tells their story in their own words. A film and podcast accompanies the oral history interviews. A launch at their new ground, back in Plough Lane, Wimbledon for the first time in 30 years was attended by 250 people.
